I am a solo practitioner in Savannah, GA. I also have a satellite location in Bluffton, South Carolina near Sun City and Hilton Head. In my surgery center, I perform anterior segment surgery including cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, corneal transplants (including DSEK), and LASIK.
I was reared in Savannah and attended Princeton University where my undergraduate degree was in English literature. Prior to attending medical school at the University of Virginia, I took two years off to study for my M. Phil. degree in 19th and 20th century English and American literature at Trinity College, Oxford University. After finishing medical school in 1990, I completed my internship at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia. My residency in ophthalmology was completed in New Orleans at the Ochsner Clinic. Finally, before returning home to join my father in practice, I spent a year in Lexington, Kentucky for an anterior segment fellowship under the tutelage of William Collis, M.D.
Outside of medicine, my interests revolve around my family with my wife and three daughters, reading, windsurfing, fishing, shooting, traveling, and boating.
